Is "bad debt" possible?

Bad debt refers to a scenario where one of the parties has negative balance and is unable to pay the debt. This scenario can occur if margin requirements were set improperly or if the market volatility was too extreme during liquidations.

All settlement pools are segregated so bad debt in one pool does not affect any other pools or users.

There is no way for the protocol to force a user to fund a negative balance; such discussions must take place offline.
