Getting Started With Pro

This is a step-by-step guide for onboarding onto Variational Pro's testnet. Variational Pro testnet does not use real funds. It is built on a testnet version of Arbitrum called Arbitrum Sepolia.

Prerequisites

Install MetaMask on Chrome

Install here. You can also use a different web wallet, but these instructions are specific to MetaMask.

Add the Arbitrum Sepolia Network to MetaMask

Follow the instructions here. Make sure to switch the network to Arbitrum Sepolia afterwards.

First Steps

1. Register for an account

Register at https://pro.testnet.variational.io/auth/register.

Make sure to authenticate your email address by clicking on the verification link.

Link your wallet to your Variational account. Note: this is permanent and cannot be undone. That is, you cannot link your Variational account to another wallet in the future--the two will be permanently tied together.

3. Obtain Test USDC from faucet

Test USDC (TUSDC) has no monetary value, and can be used to trade on testnet. You can claim from the faucet at https://pro.testnet.variational.io/app/faucet, or navigate from the header navbar.

Click Claim to receive your TUSDC.

In order for the balance to appear in your wallet, you may need to import the token in Metamask. The TUSDC contract address is 0x5fabd132b58b29d0f98A9eB51651A695fc46BD9c.

4. Place your first RFQ

5. Accept a quote

If you are happy with the terms, you can accept the quote to create a trade.

6. Fund initial margin for a trade

Approve calls on-chain to transfer initial margin from your wallet into the settlement pool.

7. View your pools and deposit/withdraw

Adjust the collateral in the pool by adding or removing margin.
