FAQ

When will mainnet be launched?

We expect to launch an early version of Omni mainnet in late Q2. Please see our Roadmap for more information and make sure to sign up for the waitlist for early access!

What is "counterparty liquidated"?

If you see a trade tagged "counterparty liquidated", that means your counterparty did not have enough collateral to maintain the trade and the trade was closed. Remember that in a bilateral trading system your counterparty closing their trade means that yours is closed as well.

If you get liquidated, you pay the liquidation penalty; if your counterparty is liquidated, you receive the penalty.

Why can't I withdraw my complete account balance?

There are two main reasons why your account balance can be higher than your withdrawable balance:

  • Part of the balance is held as to meet margin requirements or is unrealized pnl, which may be unwithdrawable in some circumstances, depending on the margin settings. You can free up additional withdrawable funds by closing positions.

  • There is simply not enough capital in the pool for you to withdraw. This could be because of "bad debt".

Is "bad debt" possible?

Bad debt refers to a scenario where one of the parties has negative balance and is unable to pay the debt. This scenario can occur if margin requirements were set improperly or if the market volatility was too extreme during liquidations.

All settlement pools are segregated so bad debt in one pool does not affect any other pools or users.

There is no way for the protocol to force a user to fund a negative balance; such discussions must take place offline.
